King’s College faculty members participate in panel discussion at Hospice of Sacred Heart

King’s College Physician Assistant (PA) Studies faculty members Jocelyn Hook, MPAS, PA-C, and Justine Samanas, MPAS, PA-C, recently participated in a panel discussion, titled “Extending the Scope of the Primary Care Physician” at the Hospice of Sacred Heart in Moosic. The panel discussion was part of the Hospice’s monthly Lunch and Learn Series, a free public educational forum.

Hook is currently an associate clinical professor in the PA program, where she has taught since 2003. In addition to her teaching responsibilities and student advisement, Hook also coordinates clinical clerkships for students.

Hook currently serves as a PA in the Geisinger Health System. Her previous professional experience includes Women’s OB-GYN in Kingston, and as a PA with local medical practices. She earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and a certificate in physician assistant studies from King’s and a master’s degree in physician assistant studies from the University of Nebraska.

Samanas is an assistant clinical professor in the PA program, where she also serves as a clinical coordinator. Prior to joining King’s faculty in 2011, she worked as a PA in family practice for the Intermountain Medical Group. She continues to practice clinically with Dr. David Liskov, as well as at First Hospital Wyoming Valley in Kingston. She graduated from King’s with a PA master’s degree in 2007.

Hook and Samanas are Fellow members of the Pennsylvania Society of Physician Assistants and American Academy of Physician Assistants.
