Dallas Resident Named to King’s College President’s Council

Dr. Carol Crawford, professor emeriti of mathematics at the United States Naval Academy, was recently appointed to a three-year term on the King’s College President’s Council.

A resident of Dallas, Dr. Crawford recently attended her first meeting of the King’s President’s Council, a 42-member group that acts as advisors to the College’s administration and helps promote King’s mission in the Wyoming Valley.  The board is chaired by Richard Adams, a Kingston resident and 1964 graduate of King’s.

The Wilkes-Barre native received her doctorate from Georgetown University.  Her areas of research included robotics, artificial intelligence and computer vision.  She was one of 20 scientists in the country chosen as a NASA Research Fellow at the Johnson Space Center.  Among many honors, Dr. Crawford received two Navy Meritorious Civilian Service Medals.  She is also the author of the book “Math Without Fear.”

King’s College is a Catholic College sponsored by the Congregation of Holy Cross.
